I am planning on a guided tour of ancient Rome in October. Most of the tour companies do not include admission to the Colosseum in the price. Would buying a Roma Pass be the best way to get a ticket and avoid the line, or do the tour operators have some other arrangements? Thanks.
We took a small group ancient Rome tour with Context in July (the tour was great). We just used our Roma Passes to buy the tickets at the Palatine Hill ticket area. Actually our guide (who of course spoke Italian) negotiated the ticket part for us. It went very smoothly. We started our tour at 9 AM and there was no line. It didn't seem that Context had any special ticket purchasing arrangement.
