I am looking into the tour offered by the Vatican. The reason is after the 2 hours overview, We would like time to hang around and look ourselves. I have 2 questions . One is, will they allow us to hang around. Second, is can my 15 yo pay a reduced rate? The site says International student card . She is a student here in the states. Thanks.

A U.S. student I.D. is fine if she has one. If not, it still shouldn't be a problem getting the reduced rate. Yes, you can re-enter the museums, just don't exit them into the basilica. If you do that then you won't be allowed to re-enter. Donna

The tour offered by the museum is a crap shoot. I've had good guides and bad ones that rush you through to their "finish line", the Sistine Chapel. You only see a fraction of the museum up to that point, but you are free to see the rest on your own.
