Tours from Syracuse to Agrigento

I find very few tours from Syracuse to Agrigento online. One is by Sicily in Travel, and another is Tour of Sicily. The latter looks a bit sketchy. Has anyone done such a tour, and if so, do you recommend it? I'm disinclined to drive that trip myself.

I haven't participated in any tours, but I did most of Sicily, sans Taormina and Ragusa, by car. Are you flying in, or taking the ferry from mainland?

Will fly in. How were the roads and other drivers? I've heard driving there can be scary.

Yeah in the cities driving is a little tense, like Palmero is pretty nuts, real crazy. Everyone drives fast, but most of Sicily is open road country driving so I wouldn't consider it unsafe.

I drove through some of the middle of Sicily where there is less touristy spots and some places there were just off the beaten path, such as Corleone. The roads were atrocious, like driving in a pothole, asphalt just gone. Its part of the adventure though, and well worth it.

You don’t want a car in Palermo. Other than that, driving in Sicily is pleasant and easy. The biggest challenge is parking. Just be prepared to be patient and, in some places like Taormina and Cefalu, to park outside the town and walk or shuttle in.

PS - The Valley of the Temples at dusk was a highlight of our trip. Enjoy!

What MML said about Palermo is accurate, however I did drive into Palermo on the day we visited. I wouldn't say it was a mistake, but I would rethink ever doing it again.

Most of the towns in Sicily, even Siracusa, are easy to park on the outskirts and walk a short distance in.

To be clear, we did drive into Palermo and immediately returned our car there. For us it made sense, in terms of time and cost, versus driving past Palermo to the airport and taking transport back into the city. The drive in from Monreale was very congested, chaotic and a bit stressful. Once there, Palermo is easily and pleasantly walkable.
