My husband and I want to take a day tour from Florence either to Cinque Terre or to Pisa/Lucca the first week in November. We are concerned the weather may not be best for Cinque Terre and some of the trails are closed. Any suggestions as to which one to choose?

You don't have to decide until the actual day, so you can see what the weather is like before you choose.
Lucca and Pisa are closer, so I'd choose them just based on ease of transit. When I did them, I went to Lucca first. By the time I got to Pisa, it was later in the afternoon; the souvenir vendors were literally packing up, the crowds had gone, and the marble in the Field of Miracles looked lovely in the afternoon light. So, I'd do them in that order, although in November you shouldn't have the crowds of higher seasons.
