Touring the Vatican

Thanks to all who answered my previous question. I have looked at the tours that the Vatican itself offers (thanks for that suggestion) and now wonder whether to see the "Vatican Museums plus St. peter's Basilica" or "museums plus the Sistine Chapel"? It would seem the Sistine Chapel is the obvious answer, but I know nothing about St. Peter's Basilica. Thanks, Adrienne

My parents and I took a 7 person tour of the Vatican and it included the Chapel. The tour guide was very informative and showed us the grounds, museum, tapestries and the tour ended in the Chapel Both tours include the Chapel.

Whatever you decide, do NOT miss the Museum. Do all of it. It's wonderful. My only complaint about the tour I took was it was crowded Easter Week (of course) and would have liked more time in the Chapel. St. Peters is free, and you can go there any time and rent the head sets, so the important thing is to get a GOOD tour of the museum and Sistene.
