Any ideas for places/events/activities to visit/do with an 8 year old?
So much to do that will be fun; our kids had a wonderful time in Rome when they were 6 and 9.
Gelato is everywhere--use it as a reward and to help pace yourselves through down time.
The Villa Borghese Garden was a big hit--playground, stunning garden and sculptures, bike rental, beautiful views of Rome, and a museum.
Just got back from Rome with 8&9 year old boys. They enjoyed the Colosseum and the day trip to Pompeii the most. They also enjoyed the light show at Forum of Caesar.
two more options
BIOPARCO (Zoo garden in Villa Borghese)
EXPLORA (CHILDREN'S museum) near Piazza del Popolo and next to Villa Borghese
They both have a website to check
The small Capuchin crypt was a hit with our kids when they were younger. They also like Ostia Antica and Castel Sant'Angelo.
Enjoy!
I am taking my eight-year-old and 11-year-old to the Colosseum, the Trevi fountain, the Pantheon, and St. Peter’s this summer.
