What do you think is the best walking tour of Rome that we shouldn't miss? What tour company is best for a walking tour of the Vatican? Thank you for your help.

Rick Steves' guide book details many good walks that can be done on your own. In addition, they may be available as an audio download. Check it out and see if they will fill your needs.

Walks of Italy has many excellent tours. Their "Pristine Sistine" tour is marvelous.

Best is always a relative experience greatly dependent on the guide so I don't think it is easy or even reasonable to expect one tour company to be the best. We love two tours with Angel Tours. Cannot say they were the best but the two tour guides were very, very good. The next time in Rome we will look for them again.

Context Tours is good, uses experts/grad students as guides, available in a lot of cities. We used them for Borghese Gallery and shorter evening tour at the Vatican.
