Tour operators in Umbria

Would love to go on a tour (with transport) of wineries in Umbria. We can rent a car, have IDL, but would prefer something with transport to take advantage of the tastings. Has anyone gone in an all day tasting tour and can recommend an operator?

Thanks!

We had to cancel a week in Umbria (on our own) during the COVID crisis. I have looked for tours of Umbria and not found many. I wish Rick would have one.

@ Vera

This is Umbria’s Tourism site: https://www.umbriatourism.it/homepage

Not many people know that.

Use the Heading: Experience Umbria. It has lots of options. Guided tours vineyards etc. plenty to choose from.

Umbria is a nice size. Not many people know that.

It is with some reluctance I share this with you. And any other readers. (Geo?)

Perugia has an International Airport: https://www.airport.umbria.it/ita/

Accept the red box on the left and scroll down about halfway to Sensational Umbria, (which is my thoughts too) and view the two YouTube entries by Steve McCurry. Name ring a bell? Young Afghan girl with luminescent green eyes? Take it from there. The background plain under the YouTube presentations is in the Sibillini Mountains outside of Norcia. The little village, Castelluccio, was flatten by an earthquake in 2016. https://sibillini.net/

Not many people know that. Spent half a day there in 2018.

Plenty of stuff on both websites to answer your questions.

Perugia International takes flight from such as Uk, Schengen countries, Eastern Europe, and middle eastern turnkey’s like, Dubai, Doha etc and long-range business jets that transfer through them.

Not many people know that.

Terni is a close by southern border town with an industrial hub Italeaf, where companies are active in renewable energy and other clean tech stuff. Besides investing in lithium, cobalt and other rare earth mining in Western Australia, my mates and I are investors in this type of stuff and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Maybe tilting at windmills but hope to leave the future of the planet brighter than it is now.

Vera, get there soon before it becomes overrun by box ticking hordes. There is a whole lot more than Assisi.

Regards Ron

Here’s another vote for Mark and Giselle at Gusto Tours. They are excellent!
