Does anyone know how I could take a tour of the Forum only when it first opens? All of the tours I see include Colloseo and Palatine. I have a Colloseo underground tour already and just want the Forum but more than the RS audio tour.

Hire a private guide and they will concentrate on what is of interest to you. I highly recommend Sonia Tavoletta, [email protected]. She is a colleague of Francesca Caruso's (Rick pick) and does a terrific job. If she is not available, she will recommend someone else she trusts.

You can book the official tour of the forum for 5 euros each. The tour lasts one hour. You need to call to make reservations or you can book at the desk at the forum entrance.

The timetable is a little limited but if it fits in with your schedule you should take advantage of it.
timetable: Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11.00 and 12.30
