Tour of Italy Itinerary

We are planning to visit Venice and Tuscany during an upcoming trip to Europe. Our tentative itinerary is as follows:
Fri June 7 Venice--arrive in early morning, spend all day
Sat June 8 Venice--all day
Sun June 9 Venice--all day
Mon June 10 Florence--early train to Florence then all day bike tour through Toscana until 5 pm. Take 7:00 train to Siena and enjoy Siena at night, which is magic according to Rick Steves.
Tue June 11--Siena in morning. Take 1:00 pm train to Orvieto and then bus to Civita d'Bagnoreggio for the afternoon/early evening. Return to Orvieto and enjoy the quiet nightlife and take late(midnight) train to Vernazza in the Cinque Terre.

Now the questions I have are...

Is June 10th too busy? Is it possible to do all we have planned? Or would you recommend another day in Tuscany and sacrifice our third day in Venice? In otherwords, rather than 3 days in Venice and 2 days in Tuscany, change it to 2 days in Venice and 3 days in Tuscany??

Is the Accademia in Florence open on Mondays?

Would it be more scenic to take the train from Orvieto to Vernazza during the day rather than taking the train at night??

Thanks to everyone for their input.

Hi Donna,

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion so you know what you want to do best BUT. I found Venice so easy to do that I had had enough after 2 days and wish I had spent more of my time elsewhere. Where your elsewhere is has to be your decision. Hope it helps! Have fun with the Biking!

Donna,

Venice was by far my favorite city in Venice, although I have heard it gets uncomfortably hot in the summer. Also yes the Accidemica is CLOSED on Mondays. (As are all of the musuems in Florence).

A lot depends if this is your first trip to these places. If you have not been to Venice before then you won't have a problem filling 3 days. I have not been to Venice in Summer - Fall only, but I have heard that it does get very hot. Also mosquitos can be bad I believe. You are not long in Sienna which is a shame as it is a really lovely town. Bike tour sounds great.
