Tour of Chianti Wine Region

I would like to get a tour of the wine country and do some wine tasting. I would like to also see some mediaeval towns. I have found two tour companies that seem good--www.sunnytuscany.com and www.tuscanwinetours.net. Has anyone used these or do you have any other suggestions?

Also if you go onto Viator there is a half day Chianti Wine tour that leaves from Florence. I plan on taking that tour when I go to Italy next year.

We loved Tours By Roberto (Google it). Roberto Bechi is a Rick Steves' pick, and he did a fabulous job: Family owned winery, Tuscan village from the 10th century, Etruscan tomb. Great day!

My husband and I are going in June. We want to take a wine tour as well but is it really worth 90 or more euros per person?

First you should know exactly where you want to go - there is "Chianti" and wine country all around Florence. Chianti Classico, Chianti Rufina, Chianti Montespertoli, etc. 90 euro for a full day with lunch? Depending on how long, with or without lunch, and how many wineries, this seems like a good price. I did a tour recently (and I am not a tour type person) with Tuscan Trails http://tuscantrails.com/ and it was a full day, with 2 wineries, olive oil tasting, lunch at a restaurant (with flowing wine!), and lots of good info and company for 125 per person - something like this I can highly recommend and it may be exactly what the original poster was looking for. You have a full day, see a lot, can taste and drink as much as you want, can shop at both wineries, and don't have to worry about driving, etc.
