Tour of CHEESE MAKING or OLIVE OIL PRESSING in Tuscany

Our small group of 2 couples would like to tour a cheese making farm or see an ancient olive press. We found a tour guide from Florence who wants to charge 350 euros for an 8 hour excursion south of Florence in the Chainti region. This is too much time and money. Is there anyway we could set up our own appointments and visit these farms without a tour guide? We will be in the Tuscany countryside for four days. Thanks

Hi Debiie,
I don't think they do cheese, but I know the accidental tourist does have a tour that includes wine and olive oil making. I don't know if this is an aincent olive oil press, but it wouldn't hurt to contact them to find out.
Google Accidental Tourist Firenze or Florence.
