Tour of area of Amalfi coast/Sorrento

We want to plan 4 days/3nights to explore Naples, Amalfi coast, Pompeii and Sorrento. Can you suggest a tour for this?

You don't say where you'll be staying but you don't really need to be on an organized tour to do this. If you plan one day in each area you should have plenty of time to explore and site see. You should be able to take the train to all locations and explore at your leisure. You can find lots of information on sites and other things to do in the area both on this site and Trip Advisor. Organized tours will cost a lot of money and you'll be at the whim of the tour director as to what you see and how long you stay at sites. Donna

We stayed in Sorrento last December for 7 nights and you can absolutely see all of these locations if you base yourselves there. Are you coming to the area from another spot in Italy? That might help determine how much you can do on your arrival day. If it's your first day in from Canada, then my advice would be different. So assuming you are able to get started early in the morning, say from Rome, your itinerary could go something like this. Day 1: High speed train (early) Rome to Naples to arrive by 10:00. See the Naples Archaeological Museum, have lunch, see other sites as you wish, then head to Sorrento via Circumvesuviana to check in. (RS has a great self-guided Naples tour in his book.) Day 2: Head to Pompeii for a tour. Here is where I would splurge on a good tour guide, Gaetano Manfredi. He will help you understand Pompei and Roman life in a way you cannot do on your own. If you have the energy, head over to Ercolano too. After Gaetano's excellent tour, you will be able to self-tour Ercolano and understand it. Or, opt for a few hours in Sorrento, checking the views, local sites and museums. Day 3: Take the bus to Amalfi, where you'll have time to hike to Atrani, or perhaps hike the Valley of the Mills if you are so inclined. A stop in Positano is also possible, either on your way to or from Amalfi Town. Day 4: Departure.
