Hello! We are going to be for a few days in Milan, in April, and we would like to visit Lake Como and cross to Switzerland on a day trip.
Any recommendations?
Milan makes a good base for both Lake Como and Lugano. You can take a train from Milano Centrale to Varenna-Esino (1h 15m) then hop on a ferry to Bellagio (15m) and explore there before going back to Varenna. Make sure you stroll the path that runs along the lake..
Lugano is also convenient from Milan's central train station (1h 45m): https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html.
