Our plan is to start each city with a 1 day guided tour (Rome = 1 day Vatica, 1 day Rome). In Tuscany we want a driver who will pick us up in Montalcino then drive us to the wineries - 2 days for this.
Any recommendations, comments on what to look for, prices, etc? We're ok with a public tour, but want to make it with a small group.

We stayed in Montalcino and went on a winery tour with Franco Fadda. Because we started in Montalcino, we avoided the transit time from Florence and were able to see more places near Montalcino. We were very pleased and actually added a day to the schedule and went on his Chianti tour.
