I am going to Sicily next March or April (approximately 3 weeks) and am looking for a tour guide for the areas around Palermo, Syracuse and or Taormina areas. This would be a 4 hour or 8 hour guide to drive us to areas around these cities. This would allow us to see some areas not reachable by the train. Thanks in advance.
Can't help with guide recommendations. Have you considered taking buses? These are becoming more prevalent than trains in some parts of Sicilia. Driving is not difficult, either.
Our RS Sicily guide on the tour was Tommaso Pante, who not only was excellent, but seemed to know people everywhere we went. He arranged a day tour for about 8 people that were staying over when the RS tour was over. Get in touch with him on Facebook and see if he can suggest a local tour guide(s) for you.
Thanks for information about possibly taking the bus and also Tommaso Pante's name as possible tour guide.
