We are interesting in having a tour guide in Pompeii and Naples and Rome; any suggestions?
Rick Steves suggestion of Gaeteno is not available.
Check out www.romanempiretours.com. We have reservations for the Vatican Museum one day and the Forum/Colesseum the next day. Have read a lot of positive feedback on Rick Steves website. Their site has a lot of info as well.
Ron in Rome
He'll be leaving Rome soon so if you're going to be there before the end of July, I'd suggest getting in touch with him.
His website alone is a myriad of information about visiting Rome and is worth a look.
For Pompeii you can just use one of the local registered guides that wait for tourists right at the entrance to the excavation site. No need to make any advance plans/reservations. We got a 2 hour private tour that was very affordable (can't remember the price but it was under 50 Euro for the 4 of us) and informative and still had as much time as we wanted to stroll around afterwards.
www.katieparla.com. She is fantastic.
Gaetano Manfredi, who Rick recommends, is a very good and entertaining Pompeii guide. Had him as my Pompeii guide on a RS tour. You can contact him at [email protected].
