What is an acceptable tip for a good small group tour guide?

I generally consider something in the range of 5 to 10% but there could be other factors that could push that up or down.

In Venice about a month ago, I was able to visit the Lazarretto Vecchio, normally closed to the public. Tours were organised by the Venice Archeological Society (sic), and were free. A ten euro donation seemed a fair thing.
