We will be spending 2 days in Venice and would like to know if anyone has a few names and numbers of tour guides that we can hire for the day.

He's not a licensed guide so he can't take you into the sights but I did 2 tours with Alessandro Schezzini from Rick's book.
I did his backlanes tour and he took us all over Venice Then we did his bar tour which right held right after that. I enjoyed both of them. Here is his website
