My husband and I will be spending 3 days in Rome with another couple next October. We would like to hire a guide for one day (or half a day). Does anyone have any recommendations? When we were in Milan we hired a guide (she was great) that was recommended in Rick's Milan book but there were none in the Rome book. Thanks!

Sonia Tavoletta is someone we, and our guests when we lived in Rome, used many times. She is top notch, a colleague of the famous Francesca Caruso (who is difficult to get), speaks perfect English. Contact her at [email protected].

Another vote for Sonia Tavoletta if you could get her. Our family had a tour with her in Rome (Thank you Laural for your recommendation!) and we all adore her. She made ancient Rome come alive for us.
