Tour guide in Lecce

Hi folks,
We will be in Lecce tomorrow and 2 following days. Can anyone recommend a good tour guide for the city? Thanks

No, but in 2015 I took a good walking tour offered by the city tourist office. I don't know whether or how often it runs in October, but it's worth checking. The tourist office can tell you how to get in touch with a local guide, too.

When we were in Lecce in mid-October of 2012, the tourist office was closed. But we found a company — experience-path.com — that took us on a wonderful private tour to two nearby wineries. It was a great experience. They do all kinds of other tours as well, and were great to work with.

On another day in Lecce, we took a train to the scenic town of Gallipoli. That too was an amazing day. We had a great seafood lunch by the harbor where the fishermen dock. The train station in Gallipoli was unmanned (no ticket office) so if you go by train, be sure to purchase round-trip tickets in Lecce.

On yet another day we visited Otranto. It was pretty much closed down but still worth a visit. Lecce is completely closed down (except for a few churches) from about 2 til 6 pm every day so you need to get out of town. The most amusing part of this trip was the one-minute train connection on the way there. Luckily it worked flawlessly. Again, purchase round-trip tickets in Lecce if going by train.
