The ferries have such limited operation times. I see a lot of posts on touring the area by bus/road but not much about doing it by boat. Any suggestions/experience? I would like to start in Sorrento, go by boat, and have shore time in Positano and Amalfi. I may want to go back to just Positano by boat in the afternoon on another day other than the day I want to do this coast by boat tour. I have an afternoon available but the ferry times don't seem to work well for this. Are there boat taxis from Sorrento to Positano and how expensive are those? Late September timeframe.

I will be doing the same trip by boat later in September. The plan is to do the early morning ferry boat ride from Sorrento to Positano and then to Amalfi . Then come back by bus, either the hop on hop off or the Sitca . I am planning an all day adventure. According to RS Italy GB Ferry rides end in the afternoon, so later bus back seems to be the best choice. Still researching it though.
