Torri del Benacco, Sirmione, Malcesine or Bardolino: Lodging which is recommended?

Travel date 1st week of Sept 2024

I’ve watched so many videos listening to mixed reviews. I would really like to hear fellow Steve’s travelers input and votes. Thank you for recommendation. I will have a car.

I have not been to the other 2, but Sirmione is was way too crowded and touristy for our taste.

hey hey Nova
happy to see you spending time at lake garda, it's beautiful.
we stayed at hotel nettuno in bardolino. drove from venice to attend their annual wine festival late september several years ago. great hotel right on the lake with a ferry boat stop.
small town with shops/bars/restaurants, kmown for their bardolino wine, vineyards nearby, smaller villages around the lake. will you have a car? make sure you get an IDP (AAA.com/IDP) you will need it to rent a car in italy. so much easier to get around, otherwise buses (check schedules & will take longer, hire a taxicab $$$ maybe or take the ferry - look at schedules and cost.

so many things to see and do. after our festival we drove down to pescheira del garda and had lunch in city center, it was great. then drove back to our apartment in venice for few days before our greek island cruise.
go have fun and enjoy this gorgeous lake. we did

Princess Pupule,
My heartfelt thanks to you for taking the time to give me such wonderful tips!!! Yes I will have a car and thanks for the vote. So far Bardolino is winning but I’m seeing slim accommodation options to my liking. But I will for sure visit this town if I don’t end up lodging there. Everyone seems to have nice comments about that city.

Again thank you for your kindness!!!

Grateful,
Nova
