Torino + Piemonte card

Hi fellow travelers! My husband and I are meeting friends for a vacation in Italy and we'll begin our trip in Torino. We'll be there for about 4 days and are considering buying the Torino + Piemonte card as it seems to cover a lot of the things we're planning and has bonuses of discounted public transport.

I was wondering if anyone has used the card before, and if so, would you recommend it?
TIA,
Karen

We spent a week in Torino last October but we didn’t get the card. We were not going to enough sights to warrant it. As well we walked almost everywhere so the public transport component wasn’t necessary for us. My spouse went to the car museum and he opted to take a taxi there. On a future visit we hope to go to a couple of further out sights and the transport coverage would be useful. BTW we loved Torino.

I used a similar card offered by Lombardy last year, though I don't remember whether there was a transportaton component. It saved me a lot of money, but I was spending much longer than four days in the area.

As always, it comes down to how many of the coverered sights you end up going to. In estimating what you will do, it's important to consider not only the covered attractions but also the places you want to visit that aren't covered. Time spent at non-covered and free attractions is time you won't be able to dedicate to covered sights.

Don't over-value the transportation benefits. You can usually buy single- and multi-day local transportation passes separately and very easily.

I have bought them for use later in the month. I made a spreadsheet with the admission fees for places we want to go and it quickly became clear that the card would be a good value for us. I didn’t even factor in transportation as I expect to mostly be walking with the occasional cab except for the trip to Venaria Reale.

I'm back from my trip to Turin and thought I'd update the use of the Turin card.

It was very easy. I bought it online and printed the QR codes to show at admissions desks. Most museums scanned the QR code and then printed tickets. At places where we had reserved timed entry in advance (Venaria Reale and Museo Egizio), they scanned the timed reservation and the card. I saw other people with physical cards that they must have purchased in person the TI.

An adult card for 120 hours cost 52.90 Euros. Without the card, I would have spent 113 Euros on admission and the bus fare to Venaria Reale. The admission tickets also included some special exhibitions that I might not have paid extra to see (totaling less than 25 Euro), but in each case I was glad to see that exhibition. I would definitely recommend the card.
