We will be in Torino for 3 or 4 days in early March. From what we've heard, it sounds like a great food and wine city. (Fred Plotkin calls it the second most underated Italian city, after Bologna, which we loved.) But we are wondering if we should expect pretty cold (and rainy) weather. Does anyone know?
Hi Becky. for weather averages anywhere in the world, check weatherbase.com. Looks like average high temp in Torino (Turin) in early March will be about 50 F. Enjoy your trip!
Turin was the 2006 Winter Olympics host city, therefore you shouldn't expect tropical weather there in March. Both average temperatures and average rain fall in Turin that time of the year closely match average temperatures and average rainfall in the interior of Washington State east of the Cascades. So if you want to know what the weather will be in Turin at that time of the year, head to Spokane at the end of February and you'll have the answer. Seattle is a few degrees warmer in the same period but it rains more than in Turin.
Yes, you should expect cold and rainy weather. It's a cool city with excellent restaurants and dazzling cafès, so you can "enjoy" the inclement weather, but bring waterproof boots and jacket. (My husband is from
Turin and I've been going there for nearly 8 years, and I've seen more rain than I care to remember.)
