Our trip is getting closer! So now I am starting to plan some day trips from Torino. I have 2 "musts" so far: 1- Milan 2- Moring in Courmayeur, Helbronner to revisit Mont Blanc, then Aosta for the afternoon. Aside from those 2, the rest are still just vague ideas - not sure yet which destinations will make the cut! Any ideas? tips? Saluzzo Alba & Asti
Bra (no car / all with public transportation) Thanks in advance :)
Beware that the last lift from Courmayeur was/is under maintenance the following 3 weeks I guess (I recently visited Mont Blanc from the French side and couldn't make the trip to Italy; the lift to the top of Aiguile du Midi was under maintenance for 10 days as well). There are many interesting things to do. My favorite side trip on the area is to visit one of the many narrow valleys in Piemonte or Aosta without a set-on-stone schedule. But that is more challenging without a car. One of my favorites is the Valle Orco.
Thanks! That's good to know. I don't think I mind missing out on the Aiguille du Midi because we were there last year when we visited Chamonix. If we just go as far as the Helbronner Peak is it nice enough? I suspect it would be... I will look ip Valle Orco - thanks for the idea!
