Too many Etruscan sites?

We are going to Tuscany and Umbria in October 2022. I am fascinated by the Etruscans and want to see whatever I can while I'm there. However, I'm afraid my travel companions may find themselves on Etruscan overload. If I have to pare down, where should I do it? The Etruscan centers we are going to (but not staying in) are Volterra, Orvieto, and Chiusi. I definitely plan to do the Underground tour in Orvieto. Thanks.

No, I don’t think so and you’ll learn lots of interesting facts about these great builders.

I wasn't focused on the Etruscans but I loved my 3N in Orvieto, and the underground tour was definitely a highlight. There are several other caves to visit, turns out that the mountain Orvieto is built on rather resembles swiss cheese.

If you haven't been, do try to get to the Etruscan museum in Rome, it's excellent.

I think the National Etruscan Museum of Chiusi is one of the most important Etruscan museums in Italy. There is also another archeological museum just in Chianciano Terme, basically next to Chiusi, so you can hit two big ones in the same area.
The national museum of Tarquinia is the other big one, but it might be a bit out of the way for you.

The only Etruscan site I've been to is Tarquinia, and I loved it. Can't say it's better than the ones you've listed, but if you are considering it I can confirm it's worthwhile. Also, there's a quick and convenient bus from the town to the beach -- not that you'd be lying on the sand in a bathing suit in October, but if you want a change of scenery it could be enjoyable to take a walk along the water.
