We are trying to book our flight from Philly to Venice, then Rome back to Philly on Sept 14-30. We are on a budget and the more we save the more we have for the trip. Is it too early? I searched all the popular sites and the fare I got was $838 including all fees, Should I buy these or wait it out.
The question is, when in September? My experience is the week after Labor Day the fares drop.
Gosh Mike...what Airline?? I want to go in September ( early) and the prices I have seen is up to 1400 dollars per person!!! I will fly into Ireland after Italy as I have two Grandchildren I want to see. Last year I paid 980 for a flight to Rome, out of Milan to Dublin and then from Dublin to Ft Lauderdale.I will sign up for sites you suggest.

At least I am glad to see that Steve has quit telling us that there is a sale around the corner. There is no answer to your question that is dependable. Truthfully I think it is a decent price and would grab it. It could drift lower -- but now much?? Fifty, hundred dollars ?? That is the gamble -- what is the down side risk vs up side. You are not going to see a $600 ticket at that time of year but you will see $1000 tickets or more. Can you wait?? Sure !! But you need to be prepared to pay an extra fifty or hundred or more if the fare rolls up.
You are engaging in a lot of brain damage for a potential small savings. If saving two hundred dollars is important, it would be easier to save that $200 some where else in your travels.
