Tolls in Italy with no toll gates

We picked up a car in Milan and drove to Bellagio using new toll roads with no toll gates. All done with cameras. We are trying to figure out how to pay our tolls...or do we pay the tolls when we turn in our rental car. Thanks for your help!

within a certain amount of time - it would have been on the billboards and it has been a few months so I forget - I think 72 hours? - and you do it online at the webpage that was on the billboards.

There are 3 or 4 roads like that. Not easy for one time visitors but probably very easy for locals - it takes TelePass.

It’s easy. All you need is an email account (to register to the Pedemontana website), the license plate number of your car, and a credit card.
Once you enter the license plate it will show the details of how much you owe.
Follow the instructions on the website provided by Nigel to pay and you are done.
Similar systems to pay for freeways are coming to America, so be ready (we already have it in California).

It is standard in Illinois. Has been for many years. We call it open road tolling and most people pay with an electronic pass in the car. Those without go online and pay with a credit card.

Thank you, friends for your helpful advice. With some difficulty of our own making, we finally paid the toll and can travel in peace!
