We are planning a December 2012 flight from Rome to Catania, Sicily and area for a total of three full days. Any suggestions first on best airline to use, then on scenic and centrally located accomodations in the area of Catania/Taormina as well as awesome restaurants to try in the same area.

I know a place in Fuimefreddo di Sicilia which is a little town between Catania and Taormina (little closer to Taormina actually). PM me if you you want details.

We always use Whichbudget.com to find the one of the lo-cost inter EU airlines. Be sure that you fully read understand any luggage restrictions that these airlines may have.

Go to www.alitalia.it and you will find all the promotional fares that you won't find on the .com website. It is all in Italian, so have a dictionary open! I have heard that Taormina is a nicer place to stay than Catania. Jan
