We will be in Italy in late May early June, and want to visit Pompeii. Most tours allow 1 to 2 days for a visit, is that enough to really enjoy this location?
Unless you are an archeology buff I'm sure a day at the site will be enough. I've been there a few times, but in 5 or 6 hours you can cover quite a lot. The place is not small, so after a while, you'll also get tired of walking.
If you have two days, I'd visit Pompeii and Herculaneum (buried in the same eruption but very different experiences. If you really want to push through, you could do both in one long daytrip.
Thanks for the information, this will allow us to visit other sites as well with our time.
