After RS Tour in September, we'll be in Genoa before flight home. What about hotels and the beach in Genoa? Are there relaxing hotels at or near the beach? Public beaches, hotel-private beaches, yukky beaches, nice beaches, ... what's the hotel/beach situation? What's the relative cost factor for the various Genoa hotel options?

The beaches in Genoa are small, with pebbles or large rocks. There are private beaches where you pay a fee, and public beaches where people stretch out with towels wherever. The ocean view along with Lungomare is really beautiful, and the water is clear, to get more beach and less town you may want to go further from Genoa to Nervi or Camogli, which has actual sandy beaches. September will still be good beach weather. I wish I could recommend a hotel but I've always done in Genoa in day trips, never staying overnight.
