Tirano to Milan train

Hello,

We will be travelling to Switzerland and Italy in the month of June. Reaching Tirano by Bernina Express. Was trying to look foir trains from Tirano to Milan but it shows trains only till June 8th. We will be reaching Tirano by Bernina Express on June 13th.I want to travel to Milan from Tirano on June 13th itself. Any ideas why trains after June 8th are not showing in the search? I searched on Trenitalia, Italo and Trainline.

Thanks

They just have not loaded the schedule yet. Those are fixed price sit where you want regional trains, no advanced purchase is necessary. You will be getting on at the beginning of the line (so the train will be empty) it terminates at Milan. Italo does not sell or run trains on that route, this is the official regional train site https://www.trenord.it/en/ (but you can buy tickets on the trenitalia or trainline sites also).

European train schedules change in early June (usually not to a great degree), so it may be quite some time before you see information for June 13. Just look at the schedule for the correct day of the week in late May or the first week of Juen.

This will be an easy purchase on the day of travel. You are at the originating station. You will have plenty of choice of seats.

Often the transfer from the RhB station to the Trenord station is only 8 or 9 minutes, which makes stopping to buy tickets problematic. If that is the case, have the Trenord or Trenitalia app on your phone so you can buy tickets with that.

Hi, I came across your post while looking for answers about why the train service between Tirano and Milan changes starting June 9, from a 2.5 hr train to a 6 hr bus and train combo. If you haven't already, I suggest checking the Trenord website to see if that 6 hr option works for you.

Editing to clarify that I mean checking the Trenord website for your intended day of travel, June 13. It is now posted, and is not the same as prior weeks.

@Emily. The regional trains will not show up on the schedule until close to the semiannual schedule revamp which takes place on June 9. There will be trains beginning that date, and the schedule probably will not change much, if at all. For a variety of reasons, that is the way it works in Italy.

Thanks @Sam. Also, I do see some 3 hr train/bus combos on the Trenitalia site, which I hadn't previously checked, but only until 12:30pm.

Thanks @Sam and @Emily. We reach Tirano in the evening by Bernina Express, so the plan is to take the train same evening (if possible) to Milan or next day early morning train to Milan. Preferable the same evening train to Milan. I checked and it shows the bus so will wait for thsee how for the new timetable!
