Hi. I want to go by train from Tirano to Milan. Looking at the train sites I see I can do that and there is no bus involved. Is this correct. We will br traveling in July.
I will be getting off the Bernina Express but do not want yo go to Lugano
Thanks
The official site for the company that operates the trains on that route is www.trenord.it
Use that site to find schedules, and check if there is any substitute bus service.
When is your travel? On some days in July there is indeed going to be a bus substitution.
I'm glad you clarified within your question - I opened the question to talk about going from Tirana, as you wrote it, to Milan.
It is good you are getting the answer.
Tirana in your title is the capital of Albania.
Like Nigel, when I saw your headline I thought,.....that's a long trip from Albania.
Even if there is a replacement bus, the process for you the traveller is nearly identical. Go to the Trenord station in Tirano and buy your ticket there on the day of your travel . You only have to be there a few minutes before the train leaves (no advantage in buying earlier and no reservations taken). Make sure you go to the Trenord station (the one on the left) and not the Rhaetische Bahn station. Just get your ticket, get on the train (or bus if its a replacement) and ride it all the way to Milano Centrale.
