I'm going to a wedding in Rome and want to take a side trip elsewhere for 2-3 days.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
First trip to Italy or have you been before?
If it’s your first visit, I’d head for Florence for your 2 or 3 (or is it 4 nights/3 full days?) days.
Thank-you Pam. I studied in Rome for six months in college so I'm fairly familiar with the city.
Florence is a great idea!
Depending on the time of year, Sorrento would be a nice contrast to Rome
Florence by a mile
The Amalfi Coast is an idea!
I think the Amalfi Coast is overrated, but we need to know the time of year, and whether you live near a US coastline with beaches? Have you been to Venice? Before they institute (?) tourist-count limits, or it sinks into the sea, you might want to get there. Emirates just announced really cheap coach flights to Milan, depending on where you live.
When are you going? That makes a HUGE difference for your options.
Umbria, assuming you haven't been. Todi, Orvieto, Spello, Spoleto, Bevagna...lots of great choices.
