Ten years ago, in a Rick Steves guide, I found a recommendation for a tiny (seating for 6 or 8 maybe?) restaurant in Venice that I sent my parents to. I believe it was in a private home; there was no menu, just what the chef felt like cooking. They loved it and would like to return on their next trip. I can't find it in the most recent guides. Perhaps it's gone... Anyone know anything more?
Kelly,
I have 2002 guide... I see a place that could be it. It sounds like a private residence, you have to knock to get in and you have to have a reservation... "Antiche Cantine Ardenghi De Lucia e Michael." It says they only serve a handful of people each night.
Sally,
That's it!! Thank you so much for taking the time to find your book and look it up!
With the name I was able to find out that it is still around (at least as of 2007) but has a new name.
I'll be interested to hear if it is still as good.
Thanks again--I can't tell you how pleased I am!
