time tours generally start and bell ringing in Venice, Florence and Rome

Hi, I was just wondering what time generally do the RS tours start for Venice, Florence and Rome? Additionally, on days that the bus leaves for the next city, what time would that be? What time do the bells start ringing in St. Mark's Square and how often do they ring? Really lookin' forward to that! Would we be waking up to the bells if the hotel is close to the square? Also do bells ring in Florence and Rome as well? Do bells ring at the Vatican? I just love the sound of bells in case you haven't guessed! Thanks! Ruth

You are in luck: You will hear bells everywhere! Gross generalization, but in my experience is they don't usually ring until 07:00. Sometimes they ring rather randomly throughout the day.... It is a nice way to wake up, and my sleep was never disturbed by them anywhere. I like them too!

Count on an early start, maybe 8 am. I haven't been on this particular tour, but have been on 7 others. If you are ok skipping breakfast, then you have a little more time to "sleep-in." Some travelers don't care about breakfast, anyway. When you have your first get-acquainted meeting the schedule will be discussed. If there is a day-off during the tour, you can sleep as late as you want. Most people want to get up and get going.

Ruth, you had my blood pressure rising for a moment...I was afraid you were poo-pooing the bells LOL! Some do...:-( I, too, endure that horrid flight over The Big Blue just for the bells! People traveling with me know to 'zip it up' and stop in mid-sentence when the bells start ringing 8-D I highly recommend Salzburg...ahhhhh...
