I know that the trains to the airport run every half hour at 00:22 and 00:52 and takes a half hour to get there but we are coming from Florence on the first train to Rome in the morning and it gets in to Rome at 0945 which leaves 7 minutes to find the train to the airport so does any one knw how long by Taxi to the airport for the train station?

Not sure what day of the week you're heading to the airport, but at 9:45 AM traffic will be heavy from Termini to FCO. I'd say 45-60 minutes from there to the airport with traffic...
And even if your train was on time, you'd never make the run (in 7 minutes) from where the ES trains come into all the way to Track #25 where the Leonardo Express departs....
So as suggested above, I'd just go get a cup of coffee and wait for the next train! This info might help: Arriving by Train at Termini
