Time to allow in Academia Gallery & Ufizzi

Just wondering how much time to allow to get from the Florence airport to the Oltrano area and then to the Academia Gallery (I'm trying to make reservations). How much time to allow between Academia reservations and the Ufizzi reservations??

EDIT: Didn’t see the airport part and that you were not already in Florence at the start of the day. No comment on airport to hotel times beyond 60-120 min. Trying to squeeze in all that...Give your self 1hr 15 min between the Academia and Ufizzi. Just see the highlights (David) and head to the Ufizzi for whatever time you have left in the day.

Patti- impossible to say. Sorry. I was once in a tour that did a whirlwind visit to the Louvre. 1 hr 45 min to hit the high point. Then on our own. About 1/2 of the group left...yep, 1 hr 45 min and they thought they had seen it all- several stating it was the greatest museum tour they had ever taken. My last trip to Paris was for 2 weeks and I made 5 trips into the Louvre and I do not consider myself done with it yet, if ever. Your interest??? Only you know.

For you I’d book the Academia for first thing in the morning. Give yourself 3 hours (I doubt you will be there that long)..then grab an early lunch, walk the streets before your Ufizzi visit. No rush in getting to the Ufizzi and no rushing at you deadline to get out.

I think you can have a good visit to the Accademia in a couple of hours. The Ufizzi, probably four or five. I don’t know that I would do both on the same day if you can avoid it, for me I was just breezing past famous painting towards the end because I was so saturated by great art on my last visit to the Uffizi in 2016. It’s like too much cheese cake, you just can’t take another bite.

The Academia gets busier with the time of day. I agree, schedule to enter at opening. There's a wealth of art to see, but most see "David" and the other Michelangelos and leave after about 90 minutes.

We took a morning Walks of Italy that started there, then we spent the rest of the morning walking through Florence. We had lunch then took the WOI Uffizi tour at 2:00. It lasted until 5:30, then we stayed for a while after that since the Uffizi closed later that night.

I don't recommend trying to do both museums on the same day. We love museums, but after about 3 hours we get museumed out.

We spent 2.5 hours in Academia and had advance tickets. We still waited for over half an hour just to go inside.

Ufizzi takes longer.

Patti, you're not trying to do both right off an international flight, are you?
