Time planning in Capri

We will be staying two nights in Sorrento. We would like to visit Capri. We want to see the Grotto, take the chair lift to Monte Solaro & visit Capri town. Would this take a full day? Can this be done in half a day?

Also, how much time does it take to reach the top of Monte Solaro on the chair lift? Are they all single chairs?
We're traveling with teens and wonder if they'll be up for this.

Thanks,
Betty

You may need 3/4 of a day! If you just do the highlights and not shop in every store, it can be quick! We took the earliest ferry to Capri to do the Blue Grotto (they said to do this first thing in the morning). Unfortunately, the water was too high to go !!! But I think you may need an 1 1/2 hours (??) for the Blue Grotto. We shared a taxi ride up to Anacapri, walked the town, and rode the chair lift up to Monte Solaro-yes it is single chair. Fabulous views!! The lift, pictures of the Fariglioni Rocks, and the ride down took less than an hour. Then we took the bus back into Capri and asked for hikes from the TI right at the funicular and did an amzaing 45 minute walk to the Natural Arch and back. This was just beautiful! We were enamored with Capri! We had our daughters, 20 and 22 with us, and they loved all of the views/hikes.
