Is 14 min’s enough time to transfer trains in Venice? We are 4 seniors traveling with small wheeled carry on’s & backpacks so we prefer not to run from one train to another. However, the
trains traveling from Verona to Trieste have 1 change in Venice and only allow 14 minutes to transfer trains! If we want more time than that we have to layover for 2-3 hours! Is it doable???
I’m pretty sure you will change trains at Venezia Mestre, not Venezia Santa Lucia. If the arrival train is timely, 10 min are more than enough. There are also a few trains a day (maybe 4 or 5) which require no change, if you prefer not to deal with the transfer at Mestre.
Hello all41and14all, and welcome to the forum,
As Roberto guessed correctly that you will change trains at Venice Mestre which is on the mainland not at the big Venice Santa Lucia on the grand canal. If you have the Trenitalia (or .Italo) app you should be able to check on your connection and know what your transfer track is before you get off the train.
Because there's a Youtube for everything here's a brief walk though of Venice Mestre if you want:

Other than Bologna train stations are pretty much the same - some just bigger or smaller. Mestre is perfectly manageable.
Have a great trip,

Just looking at a random weekday, there are 4 direct trains (no transfer) a day at 9:00 AM, 4:30 PM, 6:30 PM, and 8:55 PM.
Why not just take one of those and eliminate the worry, especially if you have a lot of luggage.
