Tickets to the Colosseum?

I am trying to buy online tickets for the colosseum and am getting very frustrated. There seem to be many sites offering tickets for many different price points for the same ticket. I went to the official Colosseum website coopculture. They seem to have the best pricing for what I am looking to purchase but when I try to select and date and buy the tickets nothing happens. It is like it won't let me make a selection of buy any tickets. Does anyone have any input on how I can get the colosseum tickets online at a reasonable price?

I think that if you want to go in October, the site does not open for those tickets until the end of August, I believe. September is open with many tickets available. Hope that helps

I know you just want to buy a ticket by itself but as a thought look at a tour company to visit Rome. I'll be in Roma beginning of Oct. Takewalks.com is a great company that you get a RS discount code. I'm doing the Colleseum etc tour and the Pristine Sistine tour. I'm excited and having a guide sometimes is worth the cost. Obviously if your on a budget then of course don't but these two tours are highly rated. Enjoy planning trip.
