Tickets to Roman Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palantine Hill

I am trying to purchase online tickets to these sites for a July visit. There are 2 adults and 3 children, ages 12, 14, & 15. I know that the children will go free, but I wonder if I purchase 2 adult tickets with the audio guide, do I then have to pay for the childrens' entrance? Is it possible for them to go free and I could purchase the 3 extra audio guides for them separately? I also would like to know what website you all think is best to purchase these tickets. Any information that you can give me about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. Linda

Linda, I can't answer all of your questions but in your situation I'd go with the VERY reasonable 45-minute tour of the Colosseum instead of 5 audio guides. I just think it'll be easier for you all to be hearing the same info at the same time. By the time you paid € 5.50 each for audioguides, you'd end up paying not much more for this tour. Tickets aren't on sale for July yet but should be very soon so keep checking back.

That tour (for English speakers) is here:
https://ecm.coopculture.it/index.php?option=com_snapp&view=event&id=E6A1B5B3-BFDA-AC94-6929-0161B2E3A0C0&catalogid=BDB46B8C-0C49-10F2-6036-0167A8502B26&lang=en

You would book 2 adult tickets (19:00 € per adult) + 3 free entrance + tour tickets (7.00€ per child 12 and over). Your tickets would also be good for entry to the Palatine and Forum.

Kathy, this is so incredibly helpful, and I can't thank you enough. I have been looking every day waiting for our mid July date to be open, & I think it's getting closer...Again, I really appreciate the information & advise that you gave me. Have a good day, Linda

You're welcome! And do give a shout back if you were successful landing your tickets?

Also, it would be great if you'd keep an eye on the forums for Colosseum questions you might be able to answer from firsthand experience (or until they change ticketing procedures AGAIN anyway) after your trip? Navigating the coopculture site, finding the right entrance for one's particular ticket, length of time it takes to get through security, which tours to book or not to book, etc: this attraction is causing a LOT of head scratching and angst amongst travel-forum posters. Insights from recent travelers - I am simply flying from seat of the pants & too much time wading through the coopculture site - can be very, very helpful!
