We are looking to go to Florence in March. We will be flying our children and grand children into Italy at different times. Is it safe to get our tickets on line? And do you need passports before you can book tickets? Can't believe how much the tickets have increased since last year! Jerry and Stelly
Jerry, I buy all my tickets online. You do not need a passport. Just the full names of the person flying, some carriers ask for a birthdate. I don't know if you have an American Express card, but amex travel is very easy and helpful and very competitive on pricing. I am leaving in two weeks and booked through them. Good luck
It's perfectly safe to buy tickets online. You don't need a passport for purchase but everyone will need their passport before they are allowed on the plane. Make sure to spell everyone's name correctly or there could be problems. Donna
THe other posters are correct. However, make sure that when you purchase the tickets, that the names on each of the tickets are the same, (as listed and spelled) as on the passport. If there is any difference, there could be a problem on boarding the airplane or a question on the differences. Sometimes a person forgets how they are listed on the passport and use their nickname or drop a middle name or initial. Have fun on your trip.
