Tickets needed for Accademia and Uffizi in March?

We will be in Florence March 24-28. As this is over the Easter weekend we are wondering if we should get advance tickets for the Accademia and Uffizi? I have heard that usually March isn't too busy, but with the holiday weekend, thought we should check.

I would get them in advance. You could ask your hotelier to get you a reservation. I also recommend looking at their respective website to make sure you know when they are open. Both of these museums are well worth the visit and I would hate to have to wait two hours to get in or, worse yet, get shut out.

I'd have to agree. There may be lots of visitors so if you want to go, get the tickets in advance.

If you are there a month and can just drop in when you see the line is short you don't need to pre-book but for a short trip always pre-book -- and for Easter Weekend, of course. Back in the day before tickets with time slots we have waited literally hours to get into these plays in May. I wouldn't expect Easter to be lighter.

I would definitely book in advance. You wouldn't want to waste some of your trip standing in line for hours!
