Tickets for the Rome forum and colloseum

Hi everyone
Looking for the best way to get tickets for the forum and colluseum for June 20. Is there a specific website, or can we just buy them there? How much are the tickets and is there a 'skip the line' option?

If you are trying to get 3rd Ring and Underground tickets they open up on May 15 9 am Rome time for June. They sell out rapidly and you need to plan to be up and ready to buy. If you just want Colosseum and Forum tickets you can get them anytime. Remember no matter what you do there is no skip the line option for security and that can be a rather long wait. Tickets are at: http://www.coopculture.it/en/colosseo-e-shop.cfm

Hi and thank you for your response! 😊I don't thinke we need third ring. For regular tickets should we prepay in advance? Or is it fine to just show up and buy tickets.

Buy them in advance as ticket lines can be VERY long during high season.

Regular entry tickets to the colosseum/forum/palatine hill are not time nor date specific so you can buy them online at any time. They are valid through the end of the year. These are general admission tickets and don't include any type of tours. Book through the official website:

http://www.coopculture.it/en/colosseo-e-shop.cfm

If you are only buying full priced tickets you can choose the print at home option and go directly to the entrance. If you also need free or reduced priced tickets or any tour tickets you'll need to stop by the special events desk to pick them up.

Adult tickets will cost 12 euros plus a 2 euros fee. These allow you to bypass the long ticket lines, however, you'll still wait in the security line which can get backed up during high season.

If you do not have a pre-paid ticket, you have to go in a long line up just to buy a ticket.

If you have a pre-paid ticket, you go into a shorter line-up to pick up a time entry ticket. We were a group of six. Our four friends got in right away. My wife were just at the cut off and we got tickets for the next time entry which was either 15 or 30 minutes later, i cannot recall. This is all for the Colosseum. Entry to Roman Forum/Palantine Hill was no problem.

Ok so I tried to buy tickets online and the credit card section is in Italian. What to do now?

FYI, if you end up buying tickets on-site, we found it easier to walk across the street to the Forum ticket booth (maybe 30 people in line versus hundreds for the Colosseum ticket purchases), see the Forum that day and return the next day to the shorter line of people who already had tickets for the Colosseum. But we were staying close by, so it worked for us.

If you are buying for adults, you want the "COLOSSEOFORO/PALATINO+MOSTRE INTERO+PRENOTAZIONE " 14,00 € tickets.
(Colosseum/forum/Palatine + Exhibitions+ reservation)

After you add the correct number of tickets to "Add to cart", the rest is in English.

When faced with Italian text, copy/pasting it into google or bing translate will provide a reasonably close translation. :O)
