Ticket suggestion for Rome Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill

Appreciate any suggestions on what tickets to purchase for the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill. There are so many options and a bit confusing on descriptions. We have all morning on 1 day to do this, fitting in the Pantheon starting at 2:30. (yes I know it's a lot) I was told to book the full experience...but which one? And is that necessary? Also heard to great to see the underground. Thanks for the help. Lindy

The options indeed may seem confusing. Thankfully, having toured the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill several times before, I was keen on a visit of the underground area this past July. Tickets are best purchased on the official website. Guided tours are available on that website. Unfortunately, the underground guided tours were sold out on the official website for my available date so I had to engage a third party which covered all three sites. The non private group tour included 14 people. It was quite expensive.

If you buy tickets to the underground then you’re also able to roam the rest of the Colosseum after that tour. If you purchase tickets to the platform floor you are able to visit the rest of the Colosseum but not the underground. However you will have a decent view of parts of the underground. I recommend the guided which includes being immersed into the underground.

A guided tour of both the Forum and Palatine Hill is also worthwhile.

Plan on a minimum of three hours.
