I believe that what you are trying to purchase is one of the tours conducted by the Vatican for the museum. You can just show up at the Vatican Museum ticket office and go through on your own. The other option would be to research Vatican museum tours online and find a private company to take the tour with.
I noticed this is what it says on their website: Tickets may be reserved (with a maximum of 10) up to 60 days before the date of the intended visit and they are not refundable.
Maybe they just haven't opened the month yet, eventhough it says Sold Out. Nov 1st is 59 days from today. Keep checking back. I will too since I'll be going in Nov also!
Try again. Sometimes they put new tickets on sale, or maybe it is simply to early.
We went to the Vatican early on a Wednesday morning knowing the Pope would be giving his Wednesday morning address to the crowd in Piazza San Pietro and hoped the crowds would be THERE and not at the Vatican. We were right; we got right in, bought our tickets there, meandered around for a few hours, went down the street to tour St Peter's and lo and behold, the Pope was still speaking! So we got to see him anyway!
Save yourself a few euro and don't buy tickets for museums through online ticket agents; If anything, ask your hotel or bed and breakfast to reserve the tickets for you. Tell them what day and times (give a few options) you want to go to the museum. They will send you a confirmation number; print it out and give it to the ticket office at the museum/etc you are visiting. They will charge a very small reservation fee (2 or 3 euro) on top of the admission fee.
The reserved time entry tickets are only available within 60 days of the date you want to go, so if you plan on being there at the end of November, wait another week or two. If they still don't have reserved time tickets available for the date you want, then you can still get in, but you'll have to wait in the main line to get in. The main line has been much shorter since the reserved entry system started, when we were there in mid-May, at 9:30 the line was about 10-15 minutes.
