we arrive into rome from venice at 6:56 am in the overnight train and have about 3.5 hours before we catch our plane back to the US.
How do I get to FCO from tiburtina train station?

The fastest way from Tiburtina to Termini would be to go by the metro (Line B - the blue line at Tiburtina for 4 stops) then jump on the Leonardo Express out to FCO - track 24.
The metro from station to station takes 10-15 minutes... then the Express leaves every 30 minutes and also takes about 30 minutes....
The cost of the metro is 1 Euro...
The cost of the Leonardo is about 11.50 Euro.

So there is no direct train from tiburtina to rome FCO airport?

You can ride the FR1 through town and it will take you to the Airport. Pull up a metro/railway map and you will see this route. Yet it makes about 10-12 stops on it's way through the city and out to the airport.

Probably takes as long (or longer) but you will not have to change trains....
