tiber river boat cruises.

thought it might be interesting to take a boat cruise on the Tiber while in Rome. I've found one company that does them but their website was not too forthcoming. It's called Battelli di Roma and ot's sited on the Piazza di Ponte sant' angelo. We just want to get a different perspective from the walking about.

any help would be appreciated.

Cruising on the Tiber is not the big deal that it is in Paris or London.
Come to think of it, I've been in Rome a few times and never noticed any cruising on the Tiber, in the Rome segment of it. I don't know, the water looks pretty shallow and their are high walls.

Anybody here done a "cruise" on the Tiber in Rome?

I think you will see mostly the high walls that were constructed to keep the Tevere from flooding the city.

Oh no no no no....don't do it. The Tiber is not designed for cruising and you'll see that when you get there. River cruise "sounds" nice, but not on the Tiber. It's get high walls built up on both sides so it's like cruising through a long pit. The river itself is not very nice with scrub trees and bushes growing along the sides.

Eileen, a long time and valued member of this Forum, has been seen paddling in the Tiber River in her rubber ducky life preserver, waiving to cardinals as she went by the Vatican.
